Residence for artists

The Open Care residence for artists and curators was opened in Spring 2010 and is located in the Frigoriferi Milanese complex in Milan.  Its special nature lies in the fact that it is part of the company of services for art from which it takes its name and, therefore, it is included in a production context dedicated to the conservation, management and valorisation of art and artistic assets.

The residence, managed by the Associazione FARE, activated a programme that contributes to promoting the mobility of young art operators, making available to them lodgings with four rooms, some ateliers and a tutoring service. The maximum number of people who can be hosted at any one time is six.

The Open Care residence is part of the artinresidence.it circuit, an Association FARE project supported by the Fondazione Cariplo, NABA, Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti Milano and GAI – Giovani Artisti Italiani.  The programme provides for the permanence of artists and curators in several work locations spread over the Italian territory, permitting them to be freely included in various contexts and to establish a variety of collaboration relationships.
